Epsilon is a passive or "no-op" GC. It handles memory allocation but doesn't recycle it when objects are no longer used. When your application exhausts the Java heap, the JVM shuts down.

As Epsilon GC implements only the "allocation" part, having no opinion how should the "reclamation" part look like, it is a good blank slate to implement the real GC algorithm on top of it.

Epsilon GC can serve as the control variable to measure the performance of other garbage collectors. On the other hand, ultra-performant applications could benefit from Epsilon GC.
